Miss Sandeman

Illustration for the group exhibition “Santa Trinidad” in Jerez de la Frontera. A display of illustrations that brings this edition of the #Comarca conference to a close. Each artist offers their own take on three legendary wineries whose corporate imagery forms part of our collective imagination: Tío Pepe, Osborne and Sandeman.

I was drawn to the mystery surrounding the figure of Sandeman. My work is based on the poster and character of “The Don”, illustrated by George Massiot Brown in 1928.

Ilustración para exposición colectiva “Santa Trinidad”, muestra de ilustraciones que cierra esta edición de las jornadas #Comarca. Cada artista da su visión de tres míticas bodegas cuya imagen corporativa forma parte de nuestro imaginario: Tío Pepe, Osborne y Sandeman.

Me decanté por el misterio que rodea a la figura de Sandeman. Mi obra está basada en el cartel y el personaje de "The Don", ilustrado por George Massiot Brown en 1928. Representa a una enigmática silueta con capa de estudiante portugués y sombrero de ala ancha andaluz, fusionando así sus raíces portuguesas y andaluzas.
